Secure access (SGW) is an important safety feature of modern vehicles. In the case of the VAG Group, the system is referred to as SFD. It serves as a protective measure against unauthorised access to the vehicle's networks and the systems they contain. If the SGW module is not unlocked, many different diagnostic functions such as service functions, actuator tests, coding, or even access to various modules or error clearing may not work. VAG Group vehicles (VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda) are equipped with SFD from about 2019-20
